A lot of children were on Texel for spring break. There are a lot of activities on the island. One of the things I love is to do with my (teenage) grandchildren is to comb the beach. We start at the lighthouse, which you can climb, and from there we walk along the shore line to Pole 28. At least, that is the plan. We end up criss-crossing the beach from one washed up piece of rope to the next interesting piece of driftwood. Our backpacks are full of shells, driftwood and stones and we drag the pieces of rope through the sand. When we arrive at Pole 28 we feast on a plate of chips.
When I put Bliss among the lambs not only the children were curious about the spinning wheel, but also the lambs!
If you are here with smaller children you should go to one of the local sheep farms. For a small fee you can cuddle with the lambs. I took Bliss to such a “Cuddle Day” and guess what happened? When I put Bliss among the lambs not only the children were curious about the spinning wheel, but also the lambs!
Children always like to try to spin and especially boys want to turn the wheel round very quickly. Working with a foot and two hands together still asks for some practice.
